Effective July 1, 2022, the Distressed Commuter Tax was eliminated.
The Distressed Commuter Tax is an additional tax imposed upon residents working within the Reading City limits. Total resident tax rate is 3.4% and the Distressed Commuter Tax rate is 0.1% for 2012 Total resident tax rate is 3.6% and the Distressed Commuter Tax rate is 0.3% for 2013 through June 30, 2022. ** total combined Resident Tax rate is 1.15% The following school districts and municipalities are under the jurisdiction of Berks EIT.
